Puy de Dôme (FR)

J’ai eu de bons retours sur cette série d’illustrations donc voici un petit article qui les regroupe toutes et raconte ce qu’il s’est passé. (les liens pour se les procurer sont en bas)

J’ai commencé cette série en 2018-2019, cela faisait longtemps que je voulais avoir mes propres visuels liés à la région. J’ai donc commencé quelques croquis, dont un premier Vercingétorix, mais je n’arrivais pas à un rendu qui me plaisait.

Puis est arrivé ce premier petit puy de Dôme.

Qui fut rapidement suivi de variants de différentes couleurs.

Et d’une version avec cathédrale

Fin 2020, je les transforme en gifs et les retours et partages (plus de 45 millions de vues) me permettent d’apparaitre dans La Montagne ! (clique ici pour lire la version web)

En 2021, c’est le maire qui viendra nous rendre visite à la galerie Volcanic’arts pendant les Arts en Balade (on peut même voir ma tête sur un de ses tweets à ce sujet).
Et l’été, arriveront 2 nouveaux variants avec, ENFIN, Vercingétorix.

Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale x Sow Ay [FR]

Aujourd’hui, je viens partager avec vous un visuel que j’ai eu la chance de réaliser pour la Fondation pour La Recherche Médicale. Leur dossier de janvier est sur la dépression.

N’hésite pas à aller sur frm.org/depression pour faire un don ou en lire un peu plus à ce sujet. Ils organisent d’ailleurs une webconférence en ligne lundi 18 à 21h.

(j’ai entendu dire qu’on serait tous chez nous à cette heure-là !)

Tu connais mes créations et tu sais que c’est un thème très important pour moi. C’est pourquoi me faire contacter par la Fondation pour contribuer à la recherche en dessin a été un immense honneur ! (je crois que j’aurais pu pleurer).
C’est une nouvelle preuve que mes créations sont utiles et un magnifique encouragement à continuer. La majorité de mes collaborations à ce sujet étaient avec d’autres pays, donc je suis vraiment fier de pouvoir aider chez moi. Merci à eux et merci à vous de suivre tout ça.

Prenez soin de vous et de vos proches. N’hésitez pas à envoyer des messages à vos amis et à prendre leur leurs nouvelles, à les écouter. On ne sait jamais, un sms au bon moment peut sauver une vie.

Wednesday was an amazing day !

The first email I read was from The Mighty, telling me they shared some of my comics. It’s here. I’m so glad because I love this website.

Later in the day, I was on The Independant. I answered to some questions and Kashmira wrote an amazing article. I think that’s another life achievement for me !

2 amazing websites on the same day !! WOAW !

I receive many wonderful messages and get many notifications. Thanks you ever so much everyone, you keep making my days. And I’m sorry for the comments I miss on tumblr, I have so many notifications that I can’t see everything.

News on the shop coming !

Some wonderful people also asked if I was selling prints and goodies of these artworks. I’m currently working on news to add on the shop ! I found a new printing partner who can ship in the whole world so I can’t wait for everything to be ready !

The goodies you’ll buy on the shop will help me to have some time to create the comics I share on the internet and that everyone can enjoy for free.

I’ll also be looking for a publisher to share the comics with everyone as a book. Wait’n see.

World tour in my bed

Those last weeks have been emotional.

It all started when I published some comics about anxiety and depression on Bored Panda.

In the following hours, it was in the popular posts. Just WOAW!! Now, it has over 250K views and over 35K likes.

I got many many beautiful messages from people who wanted to thank me for making them feel understood and less alone. But also from teachers, people and even therapists who wanted to share it with children and students to bring awareness about mental health. I feel so honored and proud. Thank you so much everyone.

I’m thinking about puting it all in a book. Maybe self-publish it. Or find an editor. I don’t know yet, I’m thinking about it.

After that, it was featured on many many websites and in over 5 languages. And I’m sure I missed so many articles. Here are some :

Hey !

This summer, I’m mostly working at the newspaper, making tons of infographics. And get ready for september with Forsaken. Many great projects and events coming !

And in friday’s news paper, I made a Pokémon artwork. If I had one day imagined that ! It’s like the top of my career ! A child’s dream.

It was even the big subject at the front page and the geeks and pokéfans can’t be prouder to see this subject in the news.

I feel like a teenager again, new Blink-182album, The Offspring gig, Pokémon Go, Harry Potter 8 + Pokémon Sun/Moon coming….

Hello,

Cet été, je travaille principalement au journal La Montagne à Clermont ou je fais plein d’infographies. Et prépare en parallèle la rentrée avec Forsaken. Plein de projets et évènements à venir !

Dans le journal de vendredi, j’ai fait une infographie sur Pokémon! Si j’avais un jour imaginé travailler sur ce thème! C’est comme un rêve d’enfant. Le sommet de ma carrière.

C’était même le grand sujet de la une et je crois que les geeks et Pokéfans du journal n’ont jamais été aussi fiers de voir un tel sujet dans le journal ! (Et morts de rire de la consternation des autres).

J’ai vraiment l’impression d’être à nouveau au collège, nouvel album de Blink-182, concert de The Offspring, Pokémon Go, Harry Potter 8 et Pokémon Sun/Moon qui arrivent….

Introvert & anxious Freelance tumblr

Disclaimer : This is a huge excited post. Also, if you own a really popular webcomic or website, you’re gonna laugh at me. A lot.

So… It all started a few weeks ago.
I created a tumblr called « introvert freelance« to share the struggles of being anxious, introverted and a freelancer. Because I know many must feel like me. Even if not anxious or introvert. So who knows, that might help them.
This time, I wanted a really quick comic style, and one that did not change every 2 days as I tend to do on my weekly comics, so I did it.

Two weeks after that, I was on Bored Panda, a website I really enjoy and hesitated. Should I submit a post to speak about my introvertfreelance tumblr ? Isn’t that showing off ? Many people do this. Okay let’s do it !

And the feedback was amazing, I’m really not used to see the K for the number of views and likes on my works. But there was over 77K views on this article !!! More than half of my city !! More in 24 hours than my French blog in 6 years !
It appeared on the home page, I even saw it shared on twitter, facebook. Even design agencies shared it !
Then I got an email from DesignTaxi, a website I follow for ages, then Metro UK, they also wanted to talk about it ! I was so stoked !

Thanks to that, I got amazing and « thank you » emails, new followers/friends everywhere (one said I was his soulmate ♥) from people all over the world.. I even had to use google trad for some.
And this tumblr now has hundreds of followers above my main one. More followers than any of my accounts. This is just crazy !
All that for my shitty drawings ! That totally made my week ! I was over the moon.

That reminded me why I love making comics. I’m so happy that it helped people to feel less lonely.
I love making my characters travel all over the world, being able to talk with people (even if I’m not good at that) from tons of kilometers away because of my funny drawings.
Now, I wanna make even more comics and better drawings to share with the world !

That’s because my work makes me do this. And usually it goes okay and far from all the movies I made in my head. It’s sometimes even a great moment.
I see that as huge challenge, and I think I’m prouder than anyone when I succeed it !

Attention : Ce post est sans doute écrit à la manière d’un gosse excité de 8 ans. On n’a qu’à dire qu’il a été écrit par un stagiaire. Et si jamais tu gères un webcomic ou site populaire, tu vas te moquer. Beaucoup te moquer.

Donc… Tout a commencé il y a quelques semaines.
J’ai créé un tumblr qui s’appelle »introvert freelance« (mes excuses, c’est en anglais) pour partager les difficultés en tant que personne anxieuse, introvertie en freelance. Parce que je suis sure qu’il y a des personnes qui peuvent penser la même chose, freelance, anxieux ou non.
Cette fois, j’ai voulu un style de dessin très rapide, et un style fixe, pas comme dans mes expérimentations en BD hebdo.

Je ne l’avais pas partagé, parce que ça a un côté assez personnel et je craignais un peu que ça ruine mon image pro, mais après tout, je poste des vidéos ou je danse en licorne, donc pourquoi pas.

Deux semaines plus tard, (en fin de cette semaine) j’étais sur Bored Panda, un site que j’apprécie beaucoup et j’ai hésité. Est-ce que que je devrais poster dessus pour parler de mon tumblr introvertfreelance ? Ce serait pas un peu se la péter ? Ouais, mais plein de gens le font.. Bon aller, on y va !

Et les retours ont été incroyables. J’ai vraiment pas l’habitude de voir un K pour indiquer le nombre de vues et likes. Tu sais, ce K qui veut dire milliers !! Plus de 77K vues sur cet article en 3 jours !!! Plus que la moitié de Clermont ! Plus que mon blog français en 6 ans ! 6 ans de taf battu par un blog dont les 10 dessins m’ont prit au max 2h.
L’article est apparu sur la home page en « popular », je l’ai ensuite vu partagé sur twitter, facebook. Même des agences de design l’ont partagé !
Puis j’ai réçu un mail de DesignTaxi, un site que je suis depuis un bail et Metro UK (ZE Metro) qui voulaient aussi en faire un petit article. Je crois qu’à ce moment je dansais en hurlant derrière mon bureau.

Si j’en ai loupé, hésite pas à m’envoyer les liens ! Peut-être que la liste va s’élargir.

Grâce à ça, et la meilleure partie, j’ai reçu des emails de « thank you », de nouveaux amis sur twitter/instagram, des gens du monde entier.. (un a même dit que j’étais son âme sœur) J’ai du utiliser Google Trad pour pouvoir lire quelques commentaire et articles et j’ai eu l’occasion de ressortir mes bases d’italien.
Et ce tumblr a désormais des centaines d’abonnés de plus que mon principal. Des centaines d’abonnés de plus que n’importe lequel de mes comptes en fait. C’est dingue!
Tout ça pour des dessins à l’arrache ! Donc ça m’a fait ma semaine. Et ça va sans doute encore me tenir quelques jours !

Ça m’a rappelé pourquoi j’adore faire des BD. Ça fait tellement plaisir de savoir que de simples dessins ont pu aider des gens à se sentir moins seuls.
J’adore savoir que mes personnages voient des gens du monde entier derrière l’écran, et pouvoir moi-même échanger avec eux (tant que c’est pas pas par téléphone ça va. Et puis avec l’accent, ils penseraient que c’est une blague.)
Maintenant, j’ai envie de faire encore plus de BD à partager avec le monde.

Ceci explique également pourquoi mon twitter/instagram sont en anglais (j’ai plus de followers et suis plus d’internationaux). Pareil pour mes BD qui sont d’abord en anglais.
